Responsible Gambling
Gambling is a form of entertainment, not a source of income. The moment enjoyment turns into a burden, stopping is the strongest move you can make. LuckyBox operates the following tools and policies so that members can play while keeping a sense of control.
Four Principles
- Bet only with money you can afford to lose. Living expenses, tuition, borrowed funds, and other people's money are never appropriate.
- Set limits in advance and stick to them. Decide your daily / weekly / monthly deposit cap and loss cap before you start.
- Do not chase losses. Trying to win back what you've lost is the most common pattern that turns small losses into large ones.
- Do not bet when your judgment is impaired. Stop playing if you are under the influence of alcohol, sleep-deprived, or emotionally unsettled.
Self-Assessment Checklist
The items below are a simplified version of questions commonly used in problem-gambling self-assessment scales such as the PGSI. Reflect on the past six months and check how many apply to you.
- Q1. I have bet more than I could really afford to lose.
- Q2. I have needed to bet larger amounts to get the same feeling of excitement.
- Q3. I have tried to cut down or stop betting but could not.
- Q4. I feel restless or low when I am not gambling.
- Q5. I have used gambling to escape uncomfortable feelings (sadness, anxiety, guilt).
- Q6. I have gone back another day to try to win back money I had lost.
- Q7. I have lied to family or friends about my gambling.
- Q8. I have borrowed money or sold assets to fund gambling.
- Q9. Gambling has caused problems with work, school, or relationships.
